One-Time Volunteer Opportunities


Saint Louis Zoo

What: Volunteers are needed for Wild Lights, an animal-themed holiday lights experience for children and adults.  Assist the  Zoo with children's activities, monitoring fire pits, helping direct guests, and more. 
When: Any day through December 30, volunteer shift of 4:45 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Family Hospice

What: Volunteers are needed for our annual Tree of Memories fundraiser.  Members of surrounding communities purchase handmade angel ornaments in memory of loved ones.  Assist with the sale of ornaments, as well as in listening to customers share stories of their loved ones.
When: Any day through December 20, 2-hour shifts anytime 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Kingdom House

Community organization serving low-income youth and families in St. Louis.
What: Volunteers are needed for our Holiday Open House and Shop, assisting with youth and families seeking presents with their shopping, as well as helping with games and arts and crafts.
When: Tuesday, December 11 from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, December 13 from 9:00 a.m. - Noon.

The Butterfly House

Missouri Botanical Garden sponsored program that focuses on education and  awareness of the natural habitat in which butterflies thrive.
What: Volunteers are needed for the annual Supper With Santa event, our holiday program for families and youth to interact with The Butterfly House.  Assist with children's crafts and games, face painting, serving food and drinks, and set-up/take-down.
When: Any day December 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 from 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Salvation Army Midland Division

What: Volunteers are needed for our annual Toy Town, where we give the parents and guardians an opportunity to shop for their youth.  Assist with greeting, stocking the shelves, handing out food and drinks to shoppers, etc.
When: Any day Monday, December 17 - Friday, December 21, anytime 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
